Thickish amber brew with a big malty mouthfeel. Flavor is green pepper with something aromatic. This is definitely a "what is this stuff" beer, but you sip away anyway, though it tastes sort of like spring soup. Very green vegetal flavors, but not herbal and dank at all. Just a slight bitterness.
Atwood grew their own Tettnang hops for this. It doesn't taste so much like at Saison as the other Mo's variations, and it's also stronger by a percent. From the 750 ml capped bottle purchased at Special Brews in Lynnwood.

Pours a hazy, medium orange amber with a massive half glass head that slowly dissipates to a thick white camp with good lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, saison yeast; minerals and pepper. Flavor is grainy malt, saison yeast, pepper and a flavor that reminded me of rhubarb without any tartness; a hint of caramel. Finishes semi-dry with grain, farmhouse yeast, mild green leafy vegatables. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Medium bodied with sharp, peppery carbonation. A nice classic grain forward saison body with the interesting light green vegetable flavor due to the nettles (which taste somewhat like mild spinach when boiled). The nettle flavor meld quite nicely with the grainy saison and there is a pleasant peppery spice flavor that carries the whole thing through. An odd idea, but works well. Tastes rustic and balanced. An interesting and easy drinking saison. This is a great little brewery.
