Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a slightly hazy, ligth to medium golden amber with a half finger white head that dissipates to a thick film with good lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, saison yeast, light apple and lemon. Flavor follows with mixed grain malt, saison yeast, apple and pear and hints of citrus; moderately dry finish. A suggestion of rose hip tartness. Medium bodied with sharp, peppery carbonation. A classic tasting saison, with mixed grain in the malt, a nice lightly funky yeast, and light fruit flavors. The rose hips are detectable as a light sourness, but I probably would not have recognized them if they weren't listed in the name. Nice and refreshing, a saison of exactly the style I like.
