100% Local Malt / 52% Local Hops / 48% German Hops
Inspired by the beer geography of western Europe, this saison-style ale incorporates Belgian yeast and modern German aroma hops with local Skagit Valley barley malt and local Fraser Valley hops to celebrate the best parts of the old world and the new world. This saison is dry, crisp and flinty, with notes of black pepper, anise, black tea, lemon zest, white grape, berries and black currant.

Brewed with Skagit Valley barley malts; local Magnum and Mt. Hood hops from Bredenhof Hop Farms in Abbotsford, BC; German Hallertau Blanc and Huell Melon hops; and Belgian farmhouse yeast.

Clear yellow brew with abundant foam. Lush and sudsy mouthfeel. Herbal and yeasty aroma. Light flavor with a lemony note. Some persistent sweetness along with the restrained yeasty taste gives this a highly drinkable character. Warm and cereal flavored with a hoppy hint. Scratchy finish with some bitter aftertaste. This is really one of the better Saisons I've had. Will be sorry to see Atwood finally go, whenever that actually happens. In the meantime, I'll see what else I can find from them. From the 16 oz can purchased at The Garden Path.
