Sky High from Chapman Crafted Beer, 16 fl oz can from @2beerdogs in NBW BIF 17. Reviewed 26/04/23 (Review 3083). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “DISTRACTION ??/23/23”. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Served at 45.5 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 55.2 degrees F.
Appearance – 3.75.
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), clear.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), hazy. Under direct light, same. When rear lite, translucent.
Head: Average (Maximum 3.7 cm, aggressive center pour), white medium density, average retention, rapidly retreating, leaving a 0.7 – 0.9 cm crown and a rocky complete layer.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3.5 – Not much – a little muskiness, a little fruitiness, no malt, no yeast. No ethanol (6 % ABV as marked on the label) aroma.
Flavor – 3.5 – Follows the nose. No malt, yeast or ethanol. No gastric warming. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Full; dry; soft but fizzy carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 None of the hops really stand out for me, just a vague musky (melony) fruitiness. OK pale ale but not one that I’d actively seek.
