New Wave is our absurdly hopped, super flavourful New England style IPA. It starts with citrus and grape on the nose, and follows through with rich grapefruit, papaya, and orange flavour notes. This juicy and vibrant orange nectar has just enough of a pithy finish to leave you wanting more.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From Small Batch Dispatch's January curation. Canned January 2/26. My 20th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 4th for 2026. Adamantly appreciated by Gracie the cat, with love...

The ABV is not 7% as it states here, it is 6.7%. Just an fyi.
This is my third Halo try and I am detecting similarities in the head (very slight retention) and the lack of body. No difference here. What you get in the nose (effervescent apricot) does not repeat in the taste. It leaves you wanting. It's also highly carbonated. It tastes good, albeit somewhat watered down. Also too overpriced for the reward you get. If you want good Toronto or area IPA, go directly to Badlands Brewing. It's like a different galaxy.
Frankly I am not sure whether I will again venture to the other side of the city (Toronto), just to taste so-so beer from Halo. My best buy from them was their teku glassware, but even that cost $15 each.

Pours cloudy gold with a thinnish but creamy head. Aromas of grapefruit and tropical fruit. Flavour: Tropical fruit, citrus, lime and grapefruit. Well balanced.

Really hazy overripe peach with off-white head. Aroma has some slightly buttery caramel malt and overripe peach notes. Taste has some vanilla sweetness at first with slightly caramelized malt, resiny hops and some overripe fruits. Medium to light body with medium carbonation. It has some oxidation notes but overall it's a quite nice, juicy IPA.

500ml bottle bought at the brewery earlier today.
Hazy golden colour. Half inch of head dissipates quickly. Very little lacing.
Big aromas of pine and tropical fruit.
There's a well-thought-out and judiciously balanced mix of piny "west coast" (Columbus, Amarillo) and fruity "east coast" (Centennial, Mosaic) hop flavours going on here. The malt backbone is restrained. Quite bitter on the back end. Just sweet enough. This is really delicious.
Light body. Mellow carbonation.
This is a nice IPA from Halo.

hazed light golden blonde colour, one finger of white head and good lace. Smell has a big citrus and tropical fruit, pineapple, mango and grapefruit, massive fruit profile with a very lean malt bill. Taste is big and fruity, hoppy and tropical all the way through with just a light bitterness that goes into the finish. Light medium carbonation, medium-light body. Solid IPA, the nose steals the show here, would revisit.

Quite a good IPA. A mix of citrus fruits and some pine, with a decent chunk of caramel malt backing. Perhaps too malty for some, but I think the backbone works. Moderately bitter, but offset by the malt.
