1L howler from the brewpub - no idea what the hell this is, but the acronym doesn't match anything in their current lineup, and the staff were, as usual, less than helpful in the matter.
This beer pours a murky, medium banana yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, very loosely foamy, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves a bit of melting snow rime lace around the glass as it quickly recedes.
It smells of muddled domestic citrus rind, generic green tea, a bit of peppery yeastiness, grainy and crackery wheat malt, candy sugar, and subtle earthy, leafy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is semi-sweet, bready and doughy wheat, a touch of grainy pale malt, blended green and black teabags (before they're boiled alive), muted orange and tangerine citrus flesh, earthy yeast, mixed peppercorn spice, and more musty, herbal, and floral verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is quite tame in its perfunctory frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with a nice airy creaminess creeping in once things warm up a tad around here. It finishes off-dry, the floral, fruity, and grainy essences lingering well into that good night.
Overall - well, with more than a little deep web-fu than should have been necessary, I came across a mention of a 'green tea, pomegranate, and lavender' version of this outfit's popular Afternooner Tea Saison, which matches up nicely here, I suppose. Easy to drink, refreshing, and pleasantly balanced among all the adjuncts. Now why do I have such a love/hate relationship with this place?

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
