Not bad. If you want an alternate Hoegaarden, then try this one.
I think i have it as the same rank as Hoegaarden. I notice the Elderflower taste in this beer here which is absent from Hoegaardens White Beer. Elderflower can fit this beer well. Color is very pale. I'd give it another try.

Pours a washed out, pale straw colour with a good amount of cloudiness. Two fingers of foam recede into a half finger thick, soapy cap that clings to the ring of the glass.

Definite unique notes to the aroma compared to typical witbiers, especially mainstreamed ones like Hoegaarden. Caramel malt is present with some pleasant graininess, but the lovely gentle aromas of cloves, coriander, spices, and zesty orange are present. Have you ever had an elderflower cordial? You’ll note the unique grassy, floral, and gently tropical hints of elderflower in the aroma. If you’re not used to it, that’s the unique aroma you’re getting here. Also getting some lovely yeasty notes, always a delight for me.

Caramel malt, cereal grain, touches of spicy doughy yeast intermingle with the gentle coriander, lime and lemon zests, clove spices and elderflower. Hints of a vague tropicality at the back end that mostly fade to a fruity floral palate. The flavours are delicate, subtle, but decently complex. Easy to miss if you’ve recently been eating or had something else on your palate. You ever drink coke and have a chocolate bar? Kind of the same thing. I noticed how pleasant the flavours were after I drank some water and washed a strong BBQ steak sandwich off my tongue. Pleasant all around, floral, grainy, yeasty, spicy, lovely.

Light in body with medium carbonation, not prickly as much as it lightly foams on the sip to create a creamy drink. Subtle finish recalling the yeast and grains, maybe some honeyed character in the sweetness. It finishes dryer than typical beers but not as dry as some others in this style.

I find this a fairly excellent offering. It seems as though they had some bottling issues a few years ago, the beers character has been cleaned up judging from recent reviews which I tend to agree with. It hits the main marks of a witbier with subtler notes around the edges that make this a perfectly good option to try if you appreciate that stuff.

Look: Hazy golden yellow. Pours with a 1 1/2 finger densely bubbled white head. The head dissipates to a thin top cape with decent lacing by 5 minutes.

Smell: Weak clove and soap smell. The smell is typical of a wit beer, although too subtle.

Taste: On point for the style, coriander, cloves, hints of pepper and lemon grass....but in a passable way. The beer is weak in the front end, with the flavours peaking forward at the middle, only to recede by the back end, leaving things a bit watery.

Feel: Lightly bodied, although not thin. More apt to call it delicate. A creamy textured beer, with a nice tart tang at the end.

This beer is passable. It's sticks closely to the style palate, but presents its goods in a very subtle too delicate way. I give it a B. WIth the plethora of good German witbiers not to mention Blanche de Chambly available at the LCBO, I would be hard pressed to reach for this again, even though I like to drink local.

This one was skunked so not an overly objective review as I'm certain it's better if it weren't in the condition it was in. Nose is dominated by greeny skunk and weed notes. Flavour is skunked as well with the base beer wheat notes coming through only subtly on the finish. Not a very good representation of the style.

Edit: The brewery reached out to me via email following a post on Untappd apologizing for the quality issue and offering the opportunity to rectify. These guys stand behind their product and I'm impressed by their efforts. I will re-review once I have the opportunity to try a bottle that isn't infected.

500 ml bottle served cold into a pint glass. Purchased from the LCBO for around $3.90 CDN.

Appearance - Clear, pale, golden color with minimal carbonation. A thin half finger of white head rests on top. Lacking any sort of staying power.

Smell - Slightly skunked, but some orange and coriander in behind. Hints of clove to add to the mix.

Taste - A decent but slightly thin wit bier. Elements of citrus with clove again and spices, but nothing unusual. Good composition.

Mouthfeel - Easy drinking with lack of carbonation. Body is light and finish is slightly dry.

Overall - A decent witbier, but nothing to stand out. Carbonation seem a little too flat for something that wasn't purchased that long ago. Still good feel and progressively gets stronger. Not a must buy,but an intriguing buy maybe?

Nope, just way too subdued and frankly devoid of character. Looks okay, hazy honey yellow, nice lacing. But that's really as good as it gets. None of the yeast, wheat, or spice you'd expect. An underlying, subtle, cloying sweetness from the elderflowers is just unpleasant. Same again to taste. Just a bland, bland beer.

500 mL bottle from a nearby LCBO; packaging date of Sept 12 2016 stamped onto the base. Served a little chilled, with the bottoms swirled up and dumped in as directed.

Pours a cloudy, translucent pale straw-yellow hue, generating roughly one finger of soapy white foam on top that proceeds to quickly dissipate. A wide, foamy collar remains in its wake, floating just underneath a smooth ring of lacing stuck to the glass. Grainy pale malts, gritty wheat, and lemon/lime zest on the nose, with light touches of floral hops and coriander. Very enticing aroma, nicely blending elements of spice, citrus, yeast, and clean, grainy goodness.

Wow - this is a spot-on wit. The taste follows the nose closely, with a backbone of grainy pale malts, wheaty cereal and faint sugary sweetness, accompanied by hints of apricot and lemon zest by mid-sip. Grassy, spicy hops and some herbal notes, with the coriander shining briefly at the finish before being overcome by a lingering yeasty flavour. The spiciness is kept to a low murmur in the background, except for a quick peak at the end. Light in body, with crisp carbonation and a pleasant texture that pops in the mouth. Exceptional drinkability - wits are typically pretty sessionable, but this particular one is doubly so. Almost as refreshing as water - but that's as far as that comparison can be taken, because it's definitely not tasteless or thin.

Final Grade: 4.09, an A-. Black Bellows' White has definitely impressed me - it's extremely light, crisp and refreshing, with beautifully balanced flavours that harmonize perfectly. One of Ontario's best witbiers, I reckon, at least when fresh, and certainly one of the best I've been able to find at the LCBO. Recommended to fans of this style, and worth the near-premium price point ($3.95/500 mL) - and potentially a new go-to witbier for me, alongside classic fallbacks such as Blanche de Chambly and Hoegaarden.

A very nice beer. Has a nice citrus note in keeping with the style. Little to no head. Only knocks on it: looked a little thin looking at it through a beer mug, also a little sweet, not overly so just more than I like. The label doesn't say any sugar was added maybe the unmalted wheat leave more residual sugars? Anyways, different style but similar to a Leffe it is more of a dessert beer/one per session kind of thing because I think the sweetness would be a bit much by the end of beer 2 or 3.
