473 mL can included in their Winter Collection mixed six-pack; dated Sept 23 2020 and served barely chilled.
Pours a hazy, muddy golden-yellow colour, producing more than two fingers of loose, soapy, big bubbled head that gradually seeps off over the next ten-plus minutes. Gobs of thick, beautiful lace are deposited as it recedes, with a fluffy, half-inch cap and soapy collar remaining in place - this is an extremely attractive glass of beer. I'm getting tangerine, cantaloupe and strawberries on the nose, with shades of stone fruit and some spicy, powdery yeast characteristics.
It tastes light and fruity - there's some grainy, crackery pale malts in the background, coming through alongside notes of melon, mango, orange and peach. It finishes with a bit of peppery spiciness and lingering citrus / stone fruit flavours; just a faint touch of floral, pithy bitterness, with lemon zest fading into a mildly fruity aftertaste. Light in body, with aggressive carbonation that prickles the tongue and froths up in the mouth - it's legit over-carbonated initially, but I allowed the glass to breathe & settle down by leaving it alone for a while, which made for a more enjoyable quaff in the end.
Final Grade: 3.79, a B+. Cowbell's Kveik Pale Ale is a serviceable pale ale with some room for improvement - for me, the carbonation was the main issue, as there's no good reason for a can of beer (that hasn't been agitated) to spill over with foam when you crack it open, as this one did. Other than that, it's fairly flavourful for only 4%, and I polished off my glass with little fuss - the melon, citrus and stone fruit trifecta works well together. Hopheads in the market for a fruity session ale with minimal bitterness should consider keeping an eye out for this mixed pack.

Pours a beautiful gold colour but the head is so big I can’t drink it until it settles down. The smell is hops, that’s it. The taste is definitely hoppy but also some citrus and candy notes. Only 4% but seems and tastes a lot stronger
