Taste alone, this beer is good. Very chocolate-y and coffee-y more than other stouts.
It's ok. I could buy again but will want to check to see what else they got on hand.

echo the 'light Ontario Guiness'. Other ontario craft brewed stouts - red hook / wellington / mill st cobblestone stout offer a higher quality.

Tried an October 22 can for first time. Pours midnight black as advertised with decent coffee collar that lasted well. Nose is light coffee oats with chocolate layering. First sip offers same - cocoa and coffee forward mouth with good finish. Toasted oats feel and fairly rich. A lighter Ontario Guiness here basically. A good weekender. Not overly complex, but not bad either.

Unfortunately, no idea if the widget was broken on my beer, but there was no typical nitro look on the pour, the head was maybe 1mm off white that dissipated, and the carbonation was thin, maybe 1/3rd of a typical Guinness. A shame because I was really looking forward to trying this, and the smell and taste was still pretty good. I feel bad I couldn’t get the full experience.
Much darker than a Guinness, flavours stronger, less watery. Roasted barley and dark chocolate both on the nose and on the tongue. Despite my cans lack of carbonation, still decently complex, though it feels thinner than it should due to almost no carbonation.
Would love to come back to this one eventually to give a proper rating

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario 473ml at 4.2%.
Poured it hard into glass just like pouring a Guinness beer with a 1 to 2finger creamy head
Taste is chocolate malt smooth coffee
Very nice
Leaves a lace as you drink it to the end
It's easy to drink.
Overall a pretty good nitro stout beer.
Cheers

404 ml nitro can, served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for around $3.75 CDN. Agressively tipped upside down to let the widget / nitro can do its thing.
Appearance - Very dark brown as all my recent beers seem to be. Frothy tan head that stays for the duration of the beer.
Smell - Roasted malt, a super subtle suggestion of roasted nuts. Pretty close to Guinness, the obvious inspiration.
Taste - Roasted malt, some dark bread aspects, a touch of nuttiness. I actually had a Guinness right afterwards and this stout was backing a little more flavor intensity which impressed.
Mouthfeel - Smooth, medium bodied and goes down easy, but not as easy as Guinness.
Overall - The Draught Nitro Stout holds up very well against the inspiration it is based off of. Flavor is a little more impactful, body is a touch heavier, but I could easily drink a couple of these in a sitting without thinking twice.

404 mL nitro-can from the LCBO; dated Oct 18 2021 and served barely chilled.
Pours blackish-brown with copper-red highlights; situated atop is a quarter inch of creamy, khaki-coloured head that doesn't stick around for long. Fortunately, its thick, creamy collar of suds remains indefinitely, with good lace deposition as you sip away and the level drops. Lots of dark chocolate and cocoa on the nose, with hints of ground coffee, potting soil and burnt ashiness - fairly aromatic, at least for a nitro beer.
It tastes of roasted grains and bready malts, followed by hints of cocoa and maybe a touch of coffee. Mild roasty bitterness towards the finish, but it fades quickly, leaving the aftertaste with just a touch of creamy, malty cocoa - drinks more or less like a dry stout, or semi-dry at least. Light in body, with soft carbonation that weakly tickles the palate; feels creamy and silky-smooth on the tongue, with excellent drinkability. I could toss back a few of these in a row with no fuss, but it does get old quickly.
Final Grade: 3.57, a B grade. Cowbell's Draught Nitro Stout is a love letter to fans of Guinness. Don't get me wrong, Cowbell's take on the style is at least somewhat more flavourful, and also leans heavier on 'roasty' stout notes, which makes it a more well-rounded and satisfying nitro stout overall. But at the end of the day, I still don't think it matches up to most other Ontario stouts in terms of flavour - it's just too darn mild. In all fairness, it's effectively a light beer, so if you really love the nitro mouthfeel and are looking for something Guinness-adjacent, then this might be right up your alley.
