Growler from Market of Choice.
A hazy yellow with a little bit of red, this looks rather muddy and murky. The nose, however, is a pretty good blend of fruit and funk with some raw, grainy wheat. Mild blackberry, moderate plum, fruity, ripe but not overripe and mildly floral, the fruit character is nice. Tannins are minimal. Funk is a blend of clove and a little plastic, pairing nicely with the doughy, grainy wheat. A little bit of yeast as well. The palate opens with a solid amount of funk with earth, dirt, mushrooms, plastic and clove. While it is messy, it is nice. This is followed by a mild fruity sweetness with the plum and blackberry character being nicely balanced and pairing well with the Brett. Light but a little muddy on the palate with a moderate carbonation, this beer finishes spicy and fruity. Very nice

This one (2016 750 ml) is made with rhubarb and fir needles; big frothy blonde with a thick meringue of foamy head.
Nose is super snappy, massive pith and slate, the rhubarb bringing a tailing burn, fantastically on point, other than the absence of the fir cited on the label.
Taste is more pith, with clean cereals, this is first and foremost an outstanding saison; so much so that I don't even care about the "let down" of the rhubarb and fir needles, which like the nose are really not there. It's just awesome.
Mouthfeel is dry and light, highly digestible.
Drinkability is perfect. I'm a saison lover, and this beer made me forget how great they can be, in spite of any potential adjuncts.
