I can't remember who brought this to the tailgate, but I know it was either Sheldon or Adam. So thanks.

Poured in full on amber territory SRM wise. Has a light red/pink hue mixed in with the amber current. Smallish off white head 1/5". The aroma is heavily on the cherry edge. Has a little bit of that saison yeast that drops some barnyard like notes of hay and cleanup. Its like its somewhere in that zone between wild ale, lambic and saison.

Taste was very nice, great cherry character going on without it being a one trick pony. Chewy mouth feel, the brett so thick you can chew on it. Also dry finish at the same time. Has a wine like aspect of it despite the carbonation being done well. That dark cherry and wood I think is where I'm getting it from. Great use of what I suspect is a nice portion of wheat in the overall malt bill. If Sonic ever makes a cherry limeaid horse blanket slushie, they should collaborate with this brewery. I hear its pricey stuff, but I can verify its real good.

Ruddy orange body; lively carbonation but no head whatsoever initially, but as the beer rests, a wonderful, thin and and creamy white head develops; carbonation bubbles burst on your upper lip. Rustic, musty cherry aroma; subdued horse blanket character. Sublime tart cherry flavor; lime; cereal grain base perking beneath the robust cherry presence. Medium body; tart and acidic; gentle bubbles percolate through a fairly smooth body; nice underlying current of cherry sweetness.

I truly expected a stronger, more acidic and tangy experience with this beer, but the relative smoothness of the beer epitomizes this beer overall: mouthfeel and taste especially. Don't be fooled. This is still a cherry-forward farmhouse beer, but with a creamy, wheat-like body that nicely complements the soft cherry base. A very nice beer...

i have been really digging the beers i have had from these guys, although it hasnt been many. i was stoked to get the chance to drink this one, a very funky wild saison that drinks a little bit like lambic with the tart cherry in it and the woody maturity i perceive. the color isnt as red as anticipated from the pricey little bottle, aroma of bretty funk, puckery acidity, and fresh cherry, like muddled or something, cocktail-esque in that way, both sweet and sour, and with more than just pale wheat malt as a grain base, some breadiness about it, and a light medicinal thing. the flavor is awesome, quite a unique wild profile, a little more developed than it has been is some of their other beers i have had, tastes long aged to me, with a tannic red wine character from the fruit. soft malt sweetness, decent body, long cherry forward finish, equal parts brett funk and sourness, complex and well developed, more and more like old world lambic as it warms. a tasty and impressive beer from these guys, all who shared in drinking it thought it was fantastic! i hope to be able to drink some others from this series down the road, i could see this base working well with a ton of different fruits, but the cherry is a really natural fit here.
