16oz can from Broken Top. Dark brown pour with a thick foamy head. Chocolaty, nutty aroma, light roast. Roast malts and it's associated bitterness are stronger in the taste. Chocolate and hazelnut provide a backup role. Sweet, bitter, full.

It is a thick porter style beer canned July of 2020. Smell is cocoa and licorice. Abv is noted at 6.2% so this must differ from a previous batch canned at an earlier date. Taste is light cocoa, light hazelnut, but heavy in malt complexity. It’s too wild for me but I didn’t mind it for a novelty. Won’t seek out in future.

L: Poured from a crowler to a pint glass. Had a medium brown color and a mostly cloudy consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, off white head that lasted an average amount of time. Below average lacing.
S: An interesting aroma of hazelnuts, malt, chocolate, and spices.
T: Tasted of a decent amount of malt (present throughout, though subtle), a fair bit of milk chocolate (a surprisingly low key ingredient), a lot of hazelnuts (a major element), some spices (a trace of nutmeg?), and filbert nuts (or so their description says. A solid, but not very porter-like flavor. It's quite light, nutty and flavorful.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Not your classic porter (it's more like a brown ale), but definitely tasty. Worth a try.

Deep brown, slightly muddled, aubutn highlights taper into a dark chestnut along the glass. A billowing cream colored foam persists and descends into rocky peaks, leaving ring after ring of lacing.
The hazelnuts clearly accomplished their role. The nut is prevelent, toasty, and mouthwatering. A perfect dusting of chocolate and an iron like quality finish the aroma.
Once again, a hazelnut dominance. Delicious if you're a fan. I am. Nice chocolatey undertones, minerals, and root beer like spices, each lingering on. (*With this aged second bottle, some farmhouse funk is really coming through.)
Smooth silky feel, light carbonation, favoring the sweet side. Dry and woody feeling, like straight from a fresh barrel.
Overall, I'd think of this more as a sweet brown ale over a "robust Porter", except for the farmhouse funky influences, but no complaints here. Cheers
