16oz can

Pours over a finger of white head into my Pilsner glass. Retention is pretty nice, and after a few minutes there is still a little bit of fluffy head. Lacing is thick. Body is pale yellow, mostly clear, with a minimal amount of bubbles coming up. Overall a very nice looking beer.

Smells very sharp, bitter, and noble; like a Czech Pils on crack. Nice, but potentially a little one dimensional, even for a hop head like me.

Yeah the flavor is nice, but it’s definitely one dimensional with the hop profile - sharp, some grass. However there is a small malty sweetness that helps balance things and actually does a lot of work. Can’t complain too much, it’s nice.

Carbonation is on the higher side. Body is light enough, but it drinks a bit bigger with all the carbonation. Bitterness is elevated, but the brief sweetness helps the balance. Pretty good mouthfeel.

Drinkability is pretty nice all things considered.

A solid Pilsner that smooths out over time. Way better in the glass than out of the can.

heady dry hopped italian pils here, done with mistral hops and really bright and modern to drink on, exactly what i anticipated it being and hoped it would be, super light on the lager yeast and any real fermentation character, yet the beer still has a rustic appeal to it like all their beer does, just like the essence of being slightly old worldy even though its so well refined and the style is new school, very cool. pretty good clarity to this, honey colored and bright, high white headed, looks the part. the aroma is hoppy but somewhat unfamiliar, i dont know a lot about this hop, and it doesnt seem overdosed or anything, but it has grassy, tea-like, and dried lemon peel properties, seems right for the style and capable of bringing some bitterness. everything is balanced and very fresh. sudsy feeling brew with high carbonation but a little more body than a lot of these, and its only off dry so there is a bit of a linger, maybe not the lightest take on the style, but i dont necessarily need to it be, especially with the chilly windy evenings on the oregon coast where i enjoyed this one. the hops are herbal, a little limey, but not popping with fruitiness or anything, a little different, like aramis used to be, anyone see that around anymore? light spiciness at the end too, but more than balanced by the fuller pils malt base, some mild sweetness to this and a biscuit character too, not wildly complex but definitely cohesive. drinkable even if a bit substantial, and unique with this hop. not an absolutely epic beer as so many of theirs are, but another side to what these guys do thats also pretty darn cool!
