Human Village Brewing Company "Chestnuts Roasting Fireside Ale"
16 fl. oz. crowler
Look: Clear deep chestnut body with soft ruby, orange, and gold highlights. Creamy tan head with somewhat better than average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Nutty, toasty, softly roasty, and cocoa-like. Clean.
Taste: As the aroma suggests, it's nutty, toasty, and cocoa-like. There's a very mild yeasty fruitiness that's reminiscent of apple and perhaps pear, and just a touch of leafy and mildly tea-like hops. It's very much a southern English brown ale with a hint of roastiness thrown in.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp with fine bubbles and a standard carbonation.
Overall: Quite a nice example of an English winter specialty that I'd love to sample via cask & handpump. It reminds me of beers I've had at The Dispensary and The Ship & Mitre, both in Liverpool, UK.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
