Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Dark golden brown, a bit cloudy. Decent head and lacing. Clean smell but not very fragrant. Taste is spicy, malty, with a somewhat bitter aftertaste.

Pours a hazy reddish brown. Sweet aroma. Taste is much hoppier, slightly citrusy but a little too bitter. Clean and dry with a slightly resinous feel. Not too bad, but smells better than it tastes.

Copper hue--maybe a touch light for the style, whitish head with good retention and lacing. Malty, chocolaty nose, velvety mouthfeel, dry hop finish. Masks its 7.2 ABV admirably. It's a keeper for the winter warmer category.

A: Pours a dark reddish brown body with a semi thick white head
S: Tons of sweet malt and bitter hops
T: This beer has a nice sweet malt flavor with a delicious bitterness mixed in
F: Nice carbonation with a bit of bitterness and dryness on the back of the throat.

A: Pours a dark copper/red color with a bit of chilled haze. A dense two finger beige head forms with excellent retention and spiderweb looking lace all the way down the glass.
S: Big caramel, toasted, and bread like malts. Floral hops and very earthy tones linger. Very enjoyable.
T: Like the nose, malty up front. Carmel and toasted malts. Bread and biscuit like with a floral and earthy bitterness that lingers a bit.
M/O: A medium body with good carbonation. Crisp and smooth at the same time. Really easy and enjoyable to drink. I am going through my first bottle without a problem. I am sure I will be getting more six packs.

This is the new and repackaged Phoenixx Double ESB. This is more rounded and enjoyable than I remember. Really well made and something I am going to be getting much more often.
