Dark tawny mahoghany tone, frothy foam and spotty lacing all around the glass.
Woody and nutty aroma, fairly malty but with a lot of oak from the barrel.
Taste is rich, rye whiskey, wet oak, light woodsmoke, nutty dry malts, vanilla, light tannins.
Full bodied and smooth, the barrel is very present, but the booze is merely warming.
Overall this was tasty stuff, and i'm looking forward to trying the other various barrels.
