Mahoghany color with a finger of off white foam and spotty lace.
Exceptional herbal, nutmeg, floral aromas from the Underberg "barrel".
Taste has a little more noticeable licorice, complex mix with the smoke and nutty malt of the base beer. Herbal and floral accents, sassafras and anise similar to Ricola candy. It verges on medicinal territory, much like Underberg. Dry and tannic oak finish with some light astringency.
Overall it’s unusual, but the beer and barrel play complimentary roles here. Experimental and unique brew, going further down the barrel-aging rabbit hole...
