Spelt Bruin was born from another brewhouse experiment — a grist of 79% spelt, the ancient cousin of common wheat, meets our Trappist yeast strain, to make a beginning-of-fall wheat beer that reflects the feeling of the changing season with notes of fruit, spice, and caramel.

Dark amber tone, slight unfiltered haze, concentric rings of drippy lacing.
Aroma of Belgian yeast esters from the Trappist yeast, dried apricot and figs, malty dark bread crusts.
Taste is similar, dried fruits and crusty bread, with a light sweetness up front and a mellow dry finish.
Medium bodied and toasty, light carbonation. Fits the autumn season perfectly.
