Pomme aged in a Rhum Agricole barrel from Rhum JM, Martinique. Pomme is our traditionally-made, spontaneously fermented beer aged for 9 months on apples plucked from 100-year-old trees on the orchard of Uncle John’s Cider.

Draft at the brewery for the Secret Garden event, FOBAB 2021 weekend. Served in a stemmed Dovetail teku glass. Bright gold, initial thin layer of foam that fades, minimal spotty lacing.
Aroma is big on rhum agricole, funky with some "hogo" aspects, green banana esters, acrylic, overripe fruit, ripe apple that dovetails in nicely. The barrel and fruit are both distinct and equally assertive.
Taste is barrel forward, with ample fruit character to match. Tart crispy apple and funky rum, it tastes like an apple rum cocktail that has a lot of barrel character. Crisp and light bodied, soft carb allows the flavors to come out a bit more. Lingering flavors, nice intensity. Overall this was great stuff and one of the favorites of our group.
I managed to get a pic of the barrels used, Rhum JM rhum agricole from Martinique.
2024: Bottle didn't age as well as the straight Rhum barrel Vignette for some reason. Tried side by side. Fruit was still slightly present, but there was some chlorine funk creeping in.
