Draft at the brewery for the Secret Garden event, FOBAB 2021 weekend. Served in a stemmed Dovetail teku glass. First one I had but maybe the least memorable. This was Vignette in the same barrel as Rum Apple.

Bright golden orange, sharp clarity, thin layer of foam, spotty lace.

Aroma is oak forward, moderately acidic, lemon, apple. Taste is much the same, very oaky and slight apple and lemon notes. Acidic with some very light acetic acid bleeding in, medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Overall it’s good but not very assertive. Didn’t get the rum barrel as much as the Rum Apple.

2024: aged vintage bottle from the brewery. Rhum Agricole much more noticeable, some “hogo” funk character. Mellow carb and acidity made for a drinkable yet complex sipper.
