Warm up on a mulled version (Glühbier) of our 2020 Fraise – our spontaneous ale – aged on strawberries and mulled with cinnamon, vanilla, and Vienna malt.

Served warm, at the taproom only. Part of the rotating monthly series of Glühbier, spiced lambic-style beers served warm with spices. An old Belgian holiday tradition similar to mulled fruit wine.
Reddish orange with bright clarity, a few bubbles on top, but otherwise still.
Aroma has some funky strawberry and wet wood notes, vague pie crust too, maybe.
Taste is where things go sideways, it has the initial strawberry note but veers into bitter and has an unpleasant mealy texture. Body is a bit flabby, feels thick and syrupy oddly enough. I finished the small pour, but this one is the least successful Glühbier experiment so far, in my opinion.
