16 oz can, no date.

Deep amber color with excellent clarity. Large, off-white, creamy head with good retention. A really nice-looking beer in the glass.

Unfortunately, the aroma and flavor are almost non-existent. There is a little bit of caramel with some nuttiness but it is very mild. The flavor is empty with a slightly metallic finish.

First of all, if you're going to fuck up an ESB with maple syrup, you better know how to use it properly. If used too early in the process, all of the sugar in maple syrup ferments out of the beer, leaving a beer that's extra dry and devoid of any maple character. Shame, because the base ESB was probably a good beer. Back to the drawing board with this one.

A: crystal clear; copper in color; less than a 1 finger off white head that receded to a splotchy cap; very little lacing;

S: more nutty than anything else; spicy; no hop character;

T: nutty up front; mixes with caramel by the middle; mild bitterness from the middle through the finish; from the middle through the aftertaste, there is a sensation similar to dry all spice coating my mouth;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: the finish to the flavor made this tough to come back to for another sip;

Picked up a growler of this beer on a recent visit to the brewery. Very nice facility with large open bar area for sampling brews. The beer pours a crystal clear amber color with a fluffy eggshell white head of about 1.5 cm foaming up and fading to a sturdy edge layer and one large wispy island. Some sticky lattice clings to the sides of the glass after each sip.
The aroma is malty with some caramel and some nutty notes, with no real hop presence on the nose. Nose is pretty mild, but I enjoy the scents that I do get here.
First sip reveals an average to lighter body with smooth texture and mild carbonation.
Flavor is nutty malt with a bit of toffee on the finish. I get maybe a little earthy hop character and no hint of any of the booze. This is a very drinkable beer and also malt forward which I like.
Worth a grab if still available at the brewery but I think this will rotate around, the tap list. Get it if you like easy drinking malt forward brews.
