Pours a clear golden amber with fine-grained foam in the Chimay chalice. Bright and prickly on the tongue. Plenty of aroma in the citrus peel and melon area. Rather acidic with a bitter aftertaste. Flavors of tangerine and grapefruit peel with a dose of onion. But really too astringent.
Riwaka is another New Zealand hop I wasn't familiar with, a citrusy offspring of Saaz. Overall, a zingy and aromatic hoppy brew. Interesting and sippable but quite sharp and intensely flavored. From the 16 oz can shipped from City Beer Store.
