Double Galaxy Socks & Sandals is our very first hop iteration on Socks & Sandals, the foundational beer of our foggy IPA program. Perhaps more importantly, Socks & Sandals has evolved into a cornerstone of fashion in the kook capital of the world, Santa Cruz, California. Adding Galaxy hops into the mix will increase the tropical fruit character already rampantly out of control in the original recipe.

A: Pours hazy peachy golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Ripe tropical fruit, stone fruit, and citrus, a touch of southern hemisphere diesel, light resinous pine, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Big tropical and stone fruit, passion fruit, mango, guava, apricot, and peach, citrus, plenty of orange, plus some lemon lime, underlying resinous pine, a touch of southern hemisphere diesel, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate.
O: I'm a sucker for Galaxy hops so I had to try this variant. (Not often you see a beer get imperialized and some special hop treatment all in the same can.) The Galaxy shines, but credit to the base beer for doing an awesome job of singing back up. Really good stuff.
