Rum Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter
Last year, we filled a used Rum barrel with Coconut Brah to rest and develop some serious Rum and barrel character. Eighteen months later, we blended a small portion of fresh, non-barrel aged Coconut Brah, from this last release with the Rum barrel to create a balanced, but assertive Rum and Coconut delight.

On tap at Humble Sea Brewing
(Poured into a Teku glass, ooh la la!)
A: Pours dark brown basically black with a creamy tan head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Dark sugar, rum, spice, chocolate, vanilla, subtle coconut, a bit earthy, a hint of oak, and faint dark fruit.
T: Roasty, dark chocolate, big dark sugar and toffee, spiced rum, vanilla, nice underlying coconut, a little earthy, and a solid touch oak on the back end.
M: Full body, moderate carbonation, creamy smooth with a very soft pleasant warmth.
O: I'm a sucker for rum barrels, really glad I got to try this one, and from the source! Great combo of flavors that all play together nicely. Coconut isn't overwhelming but also doesn't get totally buried behind all the big flavors. Takes an already base beer to the next level.
