Double decocted Summerfest. Collaboration with Sierra Nevada
Sierra Nevada was the brewery for me (as well as a ton of folks in craft beer), that got me into craft beer, so to make a beer with them is a dream come true. A lot of the production crew's favorite Sierra Nevada beer is their seasonal Summerfest, so we decided to brew it on our system and brew it how we like to do things. So we brewed a double decocted version using the same recipe they use, for a HS flare on a Sierra Nevada staple.

Can poured into a Sierra Nevada Brewing Co pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces beautifully.
S: Floral and herbal notes, a bit grassy, citrus zest, faintly toasty crackery malt, and a touch of honey sweetness.
T: Floral, herbal, grassy, light citrus, lemon and orange zest, slightly toasty crackery malt, and a little honey sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, super smooth.
O:I was never in love with the original Summerfest, but I could be with this one. The little Humble Sea touches, especially the double decocted mash, take everything great about the OG, crank it up a notch, and smooths all the edges.
