Pours a clear dark brown with coarse foam in the chalice. Some dark roasted grain in the nose. Rather bitter aftertaste for a German-style Lager. Tastes of dark roasted malt with some sweetness to start. Actually an interesting flavor, but some charred aftertaste makes it less drinkable. It actually tastes like a Schwartzbier that's a little sweeter than average. Dated-- yipes! this one is 11/30/23, so over a year old. But not much the worse for wear.

On tap at Windsor in Anaheim. Pours brown with a good amount of tan head. The nose is malty, with bread and some toffee. The taste is super malty, with toffee, leather, some maple, a strong earthy note, and a nice slight bitterness. Overall, quite good.
