Double Coconut Pastry Stout with toasted coconut, vanilla, & Mostra Coffee

Batch 3 of one of our OG Pastry stouts with our friends at Moksa who make some of the best in the biz. We’ve been fine tuning the recipe and this batch uses twice the amount of coconut for a massive coconut expression.

I tried this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a six sample flight. It poured an opaque motor oil thick dark black with thin tan ring head that did not leave any lace. The scent had good sweet pasty and roast notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to sip. There was dark chocolate, roast, vanilla and very subtle coconut presence. The mouthfeel was fuller in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
