dense yet vibrant double new england ipa, all the new zealand hops popping off in this one, really nice and aromatic and flavorful, fresh too, but a lot to drink on, starchy and fuller with some alcohol in the mix, not necessarily in agreement with the summery fruity hop character, like it should be more drinkable than it is, but it sure is good anyway. foggy as the name suggests, sort of washed out light orange colored, frothy lasting half inch or so of head from the can, weird art, almost looks like a kids drink with the colors. the aroma on this rules, southern hemisphere hops all the way, and pretty bold and dry hopped, kiwi and green melon, tangerine and kumquat, dehydrated mango and coconut, unique heft too, maybe raw wheat and some oats, a sort of canned jackfruit thing too, really interesting and appealing, light sativa headiness to this as well, grape candy, im about it. the flavor is as pungent as the nose, ripe melon and citrus dominate, a lime leaf herbal thing, and even a hint of gin to this, somehow not green and vegetal despite its intensity, and long on the palate while also being on the dry side. starburst candy fruitiness which is neat, earthy grain, somewhat simple there in terms of flavor, just sturdy. warming alcohol after this has been in the glass a minute, not harsh but present for sure. a high thiol sort of uniqueness overall, great showcase of some fine varietals, liberally dosed. i still have had way too little beer from these guys, but enjoyed this a lot!
