Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Ripe citrus, tropical and stone fruit, hints of red berries, resinous pine, a touch grassy, faint spice, biscuity malt, and a caramel sweetness.
T: Comes out swinging with a mix of resinous pine and citrus, featuring grapefruit, lemon lime, and tangerine, followed by tropical and stone fruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, passion fruit, and hints of raspberry, a touch grassy, subtle spice, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, a touch oily in a good way.
O: I've been trying to clear out the backlog of beers that have been slowly building up in my fridge. I normally like to vary the styles I consume, but I was staring down a bunch of "West Coast" IPAs all rapidly approaching the edge of their freshness window, so I decided to have a week of Westys to work through them as fast as possible. The beers preceding this one were all fine, but left me wanting more. Boy howdy is this a breath of fresh air. The combo of flavor, intensity, and depth absolutely scratches the itch for me. Definitely a more modern style take, but absolutely excellent stuff. I hope this one stays in the rotation.
