Nearly perfect appearance: strong head production and retention, crystal clear body, lovely reddish-amber hue.
Aroma and flavor are a balance of funk, sourness, and a honey-like malt base. It leans a bit stronger toward the sour side, but not quite enough to really be a pure sour ale - but the funk is too light to shine as the predominant characteristic.
The overall experience is a rustic, sour, slightly funky farmhouse ale. It has excellent drinkability, and is overall an outstanding beer. I'm not quite sure what makes this beer a Kvass-inspired ale, as they put it, but it's damn good regardless.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours a nice transparent orange with a light layer of white head. Lots of carbonation, with bubbles throughout. The nose is funk, orange, wheat, a bit of vanilla, grass, mango, and a bit of sourness. Malty.
The taste is really interesting. A bit sour and funky. Citrus peel, orange, wheat, leather, salty, a floral note, grass, lemon, and a slight medicinal note. Really nice!
Mouthfeel is dry, light, and crisp. Overall, a fantastic farmhouse ale!

On-draft at the brewery. Pours a lovely translucent copper with a loose, 1/8th inch, creamy white head. Pleasant nose - light and tart with hints of lemon. Taste consistent with nose with the addition of some lacto notes in the flavor profile. Taste is really quite lovely. Mouthfeel is light in body with a mild, even carbonation and a kiss of astringency. Overall, my first experience with the Kvass style and I found it quite delicious.

750mL bottle purchased at the brewery. Batch 1. Pours a murky light coppery brown with an inch of head. Very little lacing. Almost looks like a glass of apple cider. Tart aroma of lemons, green apples, pear, funk, yeast, and rye bread. The taste is sour and funky with lots of lemon and tart green apple. Bready with some spices. It has a bite to it. You get the rye bread flavor towards the end and more so as it warms. Sour lemon finish. Lots of carbonation with a light mouthfeel. This is possibly my favorite Fox Farm sour to date. An interesting twist on the style that works very well. Worth seeking out for sure.
