Bottled 1/17/23
When I made my first trip to Fox Farm a few weeks back I picked up a few beers to go. I've made it through all the cans, so now it's time to move onto the few bottles I have. This one really piqued my curiosity, as I like seeing American brewery takes on Gueuze-style blending. Let's pop it open and see what it's all about
Pours a lightly cloudy yellow gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is funky and bright but there's also gentle earthy notes to balance things out. I'm picking up on aromas of pear skin, sharp oak, lemon zest, white wine vinegar, earthy wheat, wildflower honey, petrichor, white pepper, apple skin, and et hay
It's more of the same in taste and that is in no way a knock on it. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting lemon juice, white wine vinegar, apple skin, wet hay, sharp oak, earthy wheat, wildflower honey, pear skin, crackery malt, and light stone. The swallow brings notes of wet hay, earthy wheat, apple skin, crackery malt, white pepper, lemon zest, dry oak, tannic white wine, and pear skin
A light medium body pairs with moderately aggressive carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes very dry and refreshing
And it looks like Fox Farm does great with funky stuff as well. I'm starting to think they can do no wrong

Had on tap at the brewery. Poursclear, gold in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is sour mix and hay. Tart, high carbonation, light body. Very good sour ale. Mouth puckering. Not an everyday beer.

Pours an opaque bright orange color. Thick, frothy head forms when its first poured, then slowly dissipates leaving just a thin layer of residual foam on the beer. That head shows excellent retention and is fed by the lovely effervescence of the beer. Aroma is funky, but not overwhelmingly so. It is quite reminiscent of a Belgian gueuze on the nose.
Taste follows the nose with a moderate amount of funk, some lemon, some citric acidic notes, all with the aged hops providing an earthy light bitterness on the back end. Feel is light, lively, and dry especially on the finish.
Overall this is a lovely beer - I am a big fan of Fox Farm's stuff and am still impressed with how good this beer is. Thank you so much Ross for sending this my way.

750 ml bottle served in my Annata stem. Pours with a three, inch, bright white rocky head. Body is a lovely burnished, honey-gold with the merest haze to the clarity. Nose is lovely - hints of funk, grape skins and perhaps light stone fruit. Taste follows nose with some acetic acid in the mix. Mouthfeel is light in body with a carbonation shy of lively, a kiss of tartness. Overall, an easy drinking and accessible Wild Ale.

Pours a golden, lightly hazy. Some funk on the nose - getting somewhere between Stilton and gargonzola, bell pepper, green apple, and elderflower. It's got some sour apple, a touch of heather, and a more supporting portion of red bell pepper. A solid spon effort from Fox Farm. I'm excited to see what comes from this next.
