Pours a murky brown with just shy of two fingers of khaki-colored foam head. Good retention and nice sheets of lacing.

Brown smelling, too, as in light brown bread and light cocoa.

More chocolate than bread in the taste, with a distinct prune-like fruitiness that’s a bit tangy. Some untoasted raisin bagel, too, and a slight coffee note in the finish.

Light to medium bodied with very strong, soft zippiness to the carbonation.

This is a very pleasant beer. A tad over carbonated to my preference, but not outrageously so, and the carbonation isn’t particularly sharp either, so it’s easier to live with. Have a couple liters and let out a good belch.

Lovely bready aroma. Notes of dark and rye bread, nuts, raisins, prunes, chocolate, and toffee.

Flavor follows, with lush notes of dark bread, prune, and chocolate. Flavor punches way above its weight class; body is light to light-medium. Just enough bitterness for a balanced sip, but the malts clearly star here.

Absolutely beautiful beer. Body is dark brown with some light coming through, but it's the head that stands out. A good two inches of thick, tan head with outstanding retention and very nice lacing. Sure, I'm a sucker for the style, but this has me salivating just looking at it.

Aroma is bready with some nutty undertones. Somewhat subtle, but very nice smelling.

Taste is dark malts and toasted bread. Very lightly bitter. Dry and clean. Very, very tasty. Medium bodied and perfectly carbonated.

Overall, I'm sure there's some brewery and style bias going on here for me, but I absolutely love this beer.

Third review of this beer thanks to @Roy_Hobbs and his ninja strikes during NBW BIF 18.
Poured deep mahogany color with ruby highlights and a half inch beige head which left copious lacing.
The taste brings caramel, earthy grassy notes, chocolate and biscuits. Most definitely malt forward, any bitterness was very faint.
The feel is just crisp enough for quenching a thirst with very little body to slow me down.
Which means I drank it probably a little too quickly and I was certainly disappointed when it was gone.
Good beer!

From a 16 oz can dated 01/10/24

It is a very dark amber pouring beer. Clear when I hold it to the light with lots of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. The head is a 2 finger light tan colored head. Great head retention, and lacing on the glass.
The aroma is not too strong but it has a bit of roasted caramel in it.
The flavor is malt based. I get a nice caramel flavor. There's a roasted malt flavor in here also. Slight hint of smoke. Slight hint of chocolate.
Smooth as heck. Almost creamy feeling, and decent fullness.
This is quite tasty.

16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Can't tell for sure, but I think it was canned on 1/10/24. @Roy_Hobbs sent it to me in NBS BIF #18.

Pours moderately hazy medium-dark brown with a fairly large head, obvious active carbonation. Smell is rich, nutty, toffee, slight cocoa. Moderate graininess.

Taste is strongly toasted grains, moderate nuttiness, somewhat bitter, but with a slight honey sweetness in the background. Light tea flavor. A little bit of grassy/earthy bitterness.

Mouthfeel is very light, very clean. Overall, very nice beer.

Pouring the 16 oz beer can into my .5L mug at cellar temp. Date stamp is 2/10/2023. Picked up the beer at the brewery earlier this year.
The beer pours a deep mahogany color with dense creamy beige head of about 1.5 cm. Foam fades to a sturdy edge layer and leaves some windowpane lattice as it slides down my glass.
Aroma is some roasted malts and a bit of dark chocolate and some bitey spice note. No hint of ABV and I believe the spicy note is hop based.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with very smooth texture and very fine tingly carbonation that tickles my palate on each swallow.
Flavor is similar to the nose, roasted malt and some dark bakers chocolate. Slightly bitter, but I dont attribute this to hops, its more like very dry cocoa high percentage stuff. No abv bite or fusol notes. the beer drinks pretty easy and my mug is draining quickly. Another tasty lager from the team in Salem, CT

Pours clear, dark brown in color with one inch head. Taste is toasted malt and pumpernickel. Mediumd body, moderate light carbonation, slightly roasty. Makes for an excellent bready excellent domestic version of the style. Will get this again.

This one pours a golden amber brown color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.

This smells deeply malty and complex, with honey, toasted bread lightly dusted with brown sugar, chocolate, and hay.

This is really good, which is not a surprise. It’s deeply malty without getting sweet – with that toasted and melanoidin malt thing coming through strong. It’s bittersweet and super bready, with a just a hint of hay-like hop spice on the back end.

This is creamy, and rich, despite the lower ABV, with a fantastic drinkability.

This is one of my favorite styles, and Fox Farm has completely nailed it.
