Appearance: Poured with two fingers of head that left ample lacing and retained very well. The body is cloudy, but I would barely call it amber as it's got quite a lot of dirty blond notes with a light bronze center.
Smell: Needs a lot more potency as even after warming, only that barest notes of mixed biscuit and caramel malt and maybe a touch of floral notes.
Taste: Starts with this mixed caramel and biscuit malt that doesn't quite work out quite right, turns to a mix of floral and grass hops.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation is solid, but there's something odd about the aftertaste, floral and caramel don't seem to jive quite right. Transisitoning is ok.
Drinkability: Lighter side of medium body, easy enough to get down but seems torn between being a normal gold lager and a more malt forward amber. Still settles down well.
Final Thoughts: It's decent offering, not an out of your way affair but worth it is you are in the area to pick up. I would think this is your late and early summer beer to start weaning you into or onto heavier stuff.
