Had on tap at Aurora tap room. Delicious BA stout. Found it very forward with bourbon / oak barrel. While I usually prefer a bigger chewy Imp Stout I thought this was a nicely smooth more drinkable big stout without losing any likability. Never sweet or cloying. Really enjoyed and picked up a few cans.

On tap at Aurora Ale and Lager Co in King Ferry, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a very small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like bitter roast, heavy hop bitterness, oak, dark chocolate, and lots of bourbon.
This is definitely too bitter and thinly flavored, and has too much hop bitterness for the style. There's tons of bourbon, and it's quite boozy. This falls squarely into the style of BA stouts that I tend to never like.
This is thin, roasty, boozy, and bitter on the palate, with a fairly low level of drinkability. It's just too burly. It would be better if the body was bigger and creamier.
This brewery was overall solid, but this was a solid miss for me.
