This one pours a hazy dark orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells intriguing, as IPAs go - I get distinct coconut and vanilla, with some orange creamsicle, lactose, and sweet grapefruit.
This tastes like a good milkshake IPA with any extra things added, other than the lactose of course. The lactose is done as "tastefully" as a beer with lactose can be - it comes across as creamy vanilla. The coconut tones from the Sabro hops kind of meld with the vanilla to make a decadent dessert-like IPA. This works much better than I thought it would. There's some citrusy grapefruit and just a hint of grassy bitterness on the back end.
This is really creamy, with a great mouthfeel, and a nice smooth finish.
Aurora only seems to do IPAs and the like well, but that kind of describes a lot of breweries. This turned out very well.
