This little lager is our version of an Oktoberfest! Crisp, slightly malty with notes of light brown sugar and fresh baked bread.

On tap at Aurora Brewing in Bushnell’s Basin, NY.

This one pours a golden amber brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells caramelly and bready mostly, with a touch of lemon peel and grassiness.

This is real solid. Aurora is most certainly an IPA factory most of the time, but they do sometimes make some great lagers. This is biscuity, lightly sweet with caramel tones, and a nice supportive but light hop character.

This is light bodied, slightly creamy, and richly malty.

This is quite good, and one of the better Aurora beers that I’ve had in general.

From the pint can, it pours a hazy amber color with a nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets a nice malty brew with notes of caramel. The mouth gets the same, pleasantly malty with a touch of caramel. Medium bodied.

Canned 10/11/22; drank 12/26/22 @ Pokemon Communion.

Cloudy orange appearance.

Big eggshell head; frothy lace.

Fresh wheat bread, acorn & faint pine notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Acorn, mild caramel & fresh wheat flavors.

Rustic, flavorful & enjoyable. I'd have another!

a generous and unexpected box of beers from these guys arrived at my house late last week from my brother, how awesome to get to try some more beers from this awesome operation that shares a name with my niece! this is a cool take on a fall lager, and its approaching technical perfection on the execution side. lighter than a traditional marzen, but not by a lot, still with a little caramel color to it, some haze in this unfiltered example, and it matches the fallen leaves on the ground in my yard this time of year. this head is spectacular, an inch high, all lathered up and dense, and lasting the entire drink, exactly what i want to see in a german style lager. the flavor of this one is great, the yeast has a lot of character, classically german, wet and earthy, even kind of doughy, with a little astringency in the nose which isnt uncommon, but clean in taste. it drives this beer with the nutty kilned malt profile, very little residual sugar here, especially compared with the typical marzen. its biscuity with a honey note, but its really more earthen than anything else, minerals and water chemistry add to the authenticity too. light toffee, almond, and multigrain bread as it sits, noble hop spiciness but its minor and all in the finish, a nice accent and serving to crisp this up at the end. really impressive overall, the kind of beer i want to drink dozens of this time of year, wish i had more. ive only had a handful from these guys so far, but this is the best of them for my money thus far. incredible execution, the right amount of raw and refined, brilliant accompaniment to a campfire on a cool fall night!
