On tap at Aurora Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very hazy golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like tropical fruit – lychee, yuzu, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, all that.
The Fresh to Death series tends to be real tasty – there’s a zesty clean bitterness on the finish, and tons of juicy tropical fruit. HBC 586 seems to present with a herbal and marijuana-ish bitterness, and an exotic juiciness that’s kind of like lychee or yuzu, along with more typical grapefruit or pineapple.
This is medium bodied, pretty creamy, with a nice drinkability.
This was extremely enjoyable, and pretty much down the middle of what I want for the NE-style of IPAs these days – clean bitterness, intriguing hop character.
