Gem clear within a Pilsner glass, with fine, random carbonation lazily rising throughout. The rocky head is white and long-lived, settling from two inches to a thick blanket over five minutes. Patchy, sticky lace clings to the glass above the pale straw beer (SRM 1-2).
The aroma has a mild sweetness of honey in equal proportion with grain and straw. A light barnyard sensation works in tandem with light charcoal smokiness. After a moment or two, spiciness comes out.
The flavor is crisp, with grain and light sweetness balanced by bitterness. Mild spices and cut grass work with rye bread and light smoke as it warms. The finish is long and modest, very dry with modest bitterness.
This one has a medium to light body and texture similar to stiff nylon. The alcohol is as expected, while carbonation is sharp and prickly. Some metallic notes become stronger as it warms.
This is a great local Lager and I will definitely be seeking more of it. It is an excellent after work beer and could easily be a mainstay for regular consumption.

Can purchased and drank at A.W. Wander in Manlius, NY.
This one pours a golden light yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like straw, white bread, honey, and a bit of light smoke.
A smoked helles is one of my favorite styles that I basically never see. It’s got a very pleasant and subtle smokiness, with a nice biscuity breadiness, and a crisp straw-like bite on the finish.
This is pretty light bodied, crisp but soft, and quite drinkable.
Aurora has pretty well nailed this one, I would certainly drink it again.
