a really nice low alcohol belgian style saison, clean and simple beer, they needed something like this in here for the patio and the nice weather, and now they have it. a very gentle haze to this, a nice white head, ring lacing as i sip it down, and a fresh aroma of dry fermenting french type saison yeast with some bright white wine sort of fruity and floral aspects, as well as a little green pear and apple to it, nothing overly ambitious here it doesnt seem, but it doesnt need to be either. all the beers in here are strong and barrel aged all the time when i come in, so it makes sense to have something a bit more sessionable and almost thoughtless for the drinker, not that this isnt capable or worthy of being contemplated, but its a lot less complex and layered than so many of their others. simple malt base here, pale wheat leading the way, summery and just rustic enough to not be another boring americanized belgian tasting "saison". clean fermentation here, the lightest tang from the yeast and an equally mild grassy noble type and citrus hop at the end, no bitter at all. nice easy drinking summery brew, well carbonated and good for several. glad they finally have something like this on the menu in here, i bet it crushes for them this summer!
