Poured from 16oz can that I got at the brewery into a dimpled mug. Can says "date filled 48", which I assume means 2/17/23. This particular can also says this batch is 5.8% ABV.
Appearance: rich, very dark brown hue with just some hints of ruby-brown around the edges when held up to the light. Head is a finger of frothy tan foam; a good looking beer!
Smell: caramel malt with a little sweetness and a bit of nutty malt complexity. Soothing.
Taste: kind of a light toffee-like caramel flavor, somewhat on the sweet side but not cloyingly so. There's a bit of roastiness and a dash of chocolate; kind of a dessert porter. I quite like it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a solid porter. I'd happily down a couple of these outdoors, in the company of brisk air, warm fire, and conversation.

I've had this beer enough, surprised I hadn't actually reviewed it before. Served in shaker.poured a nearly solid black color, just a bit of translucence around the edges, with a 1/2 inch of tan head that had moderate retention and lacing.
The aroma had a solid malt base, with a nice, but not overpowering, roast aspect. Just a hint of lightly floral hops. Pretty similar on the tongue; malt and roast featured, a fairly typical flavor profile.
The body was about average, maybe a bit lighter than usual, and had a semi-dry finish. Drinkability was good, an easy and enjoyable quaff. Overall, a solid version of the style. Worth a shot if you see it.
