22os bottle poured into 12oz tulip. Poured a lovely chestnut color with about 1/2 inch of light tan head that had low-moderate retention and light lacing.
There was a slight spice scent to the beer (AFAIK, there is no actual spice in the beer. I did have a spiced/vanilla version on tap at the brewery, but it was vastly different than this.), and there was a slightly sweet malt character. On the tongue, there was a caramel aspect, and the spice notes from the aroma weren't in evidence.
The body was a bit lighter than typical for the style, which actually helped drinkability a bit, and had a lightly sweet finish. Drinkability was pretty good, especially for this style. Overall, a fairly nice brew. This is the brewery's first bottle offering, and last time I was in, they were getting low on stock, but still, worth a shot if you see it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
