L: Thick and opaque presence akin to pineapple juice. Moderate foam leaves some lacing

S: Grapefruit, pineapple, apricot with some sweetness and yeast undertones

T: Follows the nose to a T with an extra light peanut butter twang that Galaxy hops can sometimes give

F: Pretty well full bodied at 6.6% ABV

O: A nice hazy IPA, but a bit too close to Trial By Wombat in flavor. -.25 for redundancy here

Great looking beer with it's orange hue on the yellow backdrop of color. The smell is more than your usual IPA scent - there were notes of apricot and orange and it was distinct. Mouthfeel was crisp, more than light-bodied but less than medium and a taste that hinted to those fruity flavors meeting the nose. Decent beer, glad I had it...

Poured a cloudy, yellow-gold body that sort of looked like pineapple juice with solid one-finger head that stuck around for a while. Bit of a piney and oily dankness in the aroma along with something like mango and papaya or pink grapefruit, and beer tastes pretty much the same in a smooth, not too light yet creamy body that has an acidic and bitter sweetness that is reminiscent of pink grapefruit and pineapple, but a little sugary sweetness as well like mango, and then a dry, almost peppery and crisp finish.

A: Pours a hazy medium golden apricot in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate bright yellow + pale orange + honey + peach colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy white head that reduces to a couple of small to medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of juicy citrus/lime + citrus/grapefruit + stone fruit/peach + tropical/lychee hops over the top of moderate aromas of biscuit + oat + wheat malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + oat + wheat malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. That isn followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/lime + citrus/grapefruit + stone fruit/peach + tropical/lychee hops which impart minimal amounts of bitterness which fades away very quickly leaving light to moderate lingering lychee hop flavors.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of soft/fluffiness mid-body and a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a lightly soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Enjoyable with a nice combination of tropical + stone fruit + citrus hop flavors and aromas.

Pours gold with a light head and heavy lacing. Upon the nose, sharp citrus; lemon and pineapple. Lighter profile on this than anticipated, tart tones of lemon and grapefruit. The feel is light and foam. A good beer, but reads more like a session or a low cal. Easy drinking nonetheless

this is exceptional, super fresh in my experience, and way underrated here on BA. i have probably not had enough hoppy beers from these guys, but in general their other stuff has been great, so this was a real nice treat, impressive execitution, great hop profile, smooth not too heavy feel for a hazy like this, bravo! its super pale, simply hazy yellow, without a lot of density to it a lasting white head as high as you want to make it with the robustness of your pour, great carbonation, no real sediment even in the bottom of the can, looks well refined for the style. nose and taste are super juicy and bright, citra on steroids, the southern hemisphere melon and lime thing, fresh herbal character, almost a cryo sort of intensity to it all, no green bite, very little bitterness, hints of jasmine, lavender, lemon, lemongrass, and even like a sandalwood or something organic, sweet, and aromatic like that. wonderful carbonation, a lighter than most hazy types body, a clean ferment, and a very dry finish, light spiciness as it warms up, and pretty intensely flavored but also oddly drinkable as such. this is really thoughtful stuff, unique on the hop side and with just a light and simple pale grain base, smart build. this makes me like these guys a little more, even if the packaging is a little childish. need to get my lips on more of their hops! special thanks to my mom for hooking it up for my visit, nice pick mom!

Thin Man Brewery "Sci-Fi Hamster Wheel"
16 fl. oz. can coded "14JUN2022" and sampled on 14OCT22
$4.25 @ Wegmans, Collegeville, PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: The Sci-Fi Hamster Wheel has poured a cloudy golden colored body beneath a finger's width of bright white foam. It's fairly bright in the nose with soft orange, dark berries, and some hop resins. The flavor follows suit and I'm not sure I can actually pick out anything else. ... ... ... there's some pineapple, some guava, and a little bit of grapefruit. The malt is basic and grainy, and a touch oat-like. It's moderately bitter, and just lightly acidic which would be par for the course. It finishes dry, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, and resinous. In the mouth it's light-medium in body and gently crisp-then-smooth. The head held up just OK but it's also left some solid walls of lace with rings embedded where each sip was taken. All in all I find it a bit light in character but also remarkably easy to drink. The question is, is there enough character there for you that you would you want to drink another?

16 oz can, dated 3/16/22. Pours hazy dark yellow with a big rocky white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is grapefruit and tropical fruit.

The flavor is sweet wheat malt with grapefruit and resiny hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice IPA.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is hazy straw, moderately dense looking, head is brigther white and presents 1 finger thick, head remains a solid 1/4 inch thick with some light lacing.

Smell is soft malt, pineapple, very light peach, citrus pith, some orange, light malt/oat/wheat note.

Taste is similarly soft malt, pineapple, some lime, citrus pith, orange, more prominent malt with some light caramel and toast, light oat/wheat fullness.

Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness, lingering and strengthening bitterness on the tongue.

Overall a brightly hopped but solidly malt hazier IPA (though not noted as hazy on can).
