16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/27/2019. Pours very hazy dark ruby red/pink/purple color with a 2 finger fairly foamy and fluffy pink head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy blackberry, raspberry, fruit skin/seed, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, green apple, red grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of boysenberries, fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical/earthy hops, and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy blackberry, raspberry, fruit skin/seed, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, green apple, red grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness; and pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy blackberry, raspberry, fruit skin/seed, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, green apple, red grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of boysenberries, fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical/earthy hops, and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/sourness, and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/tart/tang/sourness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resin/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an awesome hoppy/fruited sour ale. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of boysenberries, fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical/earthy hops, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp to drink with the modestly sour/bitter/resinous/drying finish. Not overly bitter/lactic. Awesome Galaxy, Citra profile. Very juicy/jammy fruit, Lacto complexity, and dank/earthy hop flavors; with a nice balancing wheat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering crisp dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. Not overwhelming on any aspect.
