Dark, golden orange and opaque. Similar to mango juice, though less bright. The head is big, huge, and rocky, and off white. The head reaches three inches before slowly settling and leaving patches of sticky lace on a PBGC Malty 2 pint glass. The head ultimately holds together as a pillow.
Grapefruit dominates while graciously leaving room for a fair amount of mango and orange juice.
This is way to bitter to be am NEIPA. That said, it is very tasty. Orange juice is stronger in the flavor than the grapefruit. The mango may also be here, though clearly in the background. Regardless, this is a very juicy beer with a long, moderate finish.
Alcohol is as expected, with modest carbonation and a bit of astringency. The full-bodied beer has a woolly texture.
This beer went down well on a Sunday afternoon. Were it called a Hazy American IPA, it would score better. Thanks for the trade, Dave.
