Canned on 10-02-2020.
Shades of pastel purples and vertical columns of double helixes adorn said can. Imperial Oat Porter - 8.0%.
No carb release "phhtt" upon opening and only a sparse off white head formed. Low in carbonation for sure but enough to keep a ring and some center froth for the duration. Very dark and clear in the taper yet completely opaque in the swell of the glass.
Aroma is soft and dark malty. Warm chocolate and wood smoke, black strap molasses and steeped coffee grounds.
The flavor follows the aroma with much more enthusiasm.
Great black malt and brown sugar sweetness - distinct molasses character again along with the cocoa and coffee notes. Tart cooked cranberries and charred grain dryness blend with tempered hop bitterness for balance to the robust porter sweet.
If I detect the oats it's in the nearly full mouth feel and lush and even distribution of rich flavors all through the mouth and around the tongue.
I was tempted many times to use the word roasted to describe this beer but it decidedly has no roasted barley or stout like character and is all about the brown and chocolate malt flavors.
One of the best Robust Porters I've had in a long time. A tad sweet and a bit under bubbled but now I'm just being picky.

Canned 10/2/20, tasted 12/16/20. This was a nice oat porter! Poured a rich reddish brown with a decent amount of loose foam. It had a nice medium body with some creaminess, although that could have been even more accentuated. It had a nice malty and nutty smell. The taste was appealing but not super-flavorful. But it had good roasty malt notes without tasting smoky, which I appreciated. The only detraction here was the tiniest hint of metallic iron, but it was not a major issue.

Can purchased from Hollerhorn Distilling in Naples, NY.

This one pours a dark-ish brown/black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like chocolate cream, oats, chocolate fudge, and toasted malt.

This is really solid no frills porter here. It's wonderfully creamy, with the oats giving off a misleading almost vanilla or chocolate cream sort of taste. There's lots of fudge, some toasted malt, and a bit of roast, too.

This is medium bodied, pretty creamy, and very drinkable. There's no real sign of the booziness here.

I can get behind something like this.
