From the bottom of the can: "FEB23-2021 ONETWOTHREEFOUR"
Appearance: The body of the beer is a pale straw yellow that is nearly opaque. It allows only very hazy and difficult to see shadows through the glass. The head is massive, white, and cloud-like. It has very good retention and it leaves some nice lacing on the glass.
Aroma: The beer has an interesting aroma of clove and white pepper. The clove scent is very strong. There is a yeasty kick to the beer that comes at the end of a deep inhale as well.
Taste: Again the clove comes through with some hints of bay leaf and thyme. A light bit of lime and pepper. A light bit of cardboard in the back end and aftertaste. Very herbal and spice-forward.
Mouthfeel: Dry and light bodied with high carbonation. Mild herbal bitterness.
Overall: The aroma and flavor of the beer present themselves as a cross between a Saison and a Belgian IPA rather than a New England IPA. The can states that this is a "NEW ENGLAND STYLE IPA" and although it is an excellent beer it completely misses the mark for what is advertised. As odd as it sounds I would drink the beer again but only if I were looking for a Belgian IPA/Saison/NEIPA hybrid. I wouldn't recommend it to those who might be used to a normal NEIPA. Give it a shot if you are looking for something a little off the mark but tasty nonetheless.
