big thanks to my homie for sending this can out to idaho for me, a collaboration with superstition meadery, who i know carries a lot of hype in that world, but i havent dabbled much. a belgian tripel with honey, makes sense. rich almost brassy color to this under a decent airy white head, some cloudiness to it. the nose is spicy belgian yeast run warm, well in front of the floral honey, subtle stone fruit, green apple, and white wine to me, some malt sweetness with the honey sweetness, almost a rock candy note, with some bubblegum and taffy character too, white pepper and even like a cardamom herbal thing, a bit more assertive than anticipated but also kind of american belgian not belgian belgian in terms of the ferment. the flavor is nice, more honey forward, sweet and flowery and definitely summery, persistent through the whole flavor to the swallow. decently malty, heavier feeling because of it, with some alcohol as well, definitely can tell its a strong beer, but it doesnt burn or anything. more spiciness from the yeast as it warms, a little over developed to me perhaps, its dominant and im not in love with that aspect, but i like the beer overall, the honey profile is tasty, and on the whole this is a fun one, something a little different. thin man does some neat stuff!
