Straight from can like a boss. Aroma has dark chocolate, roasted malt and some cake. Taste is chocolate forward, roasty, bitter on the finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Overall it's a well made, classic RIS.

Got this one from Three Meters in Utrecht
From a 375 into a snifter
Batch 09 22
EBC: 220
EBU: 55
Malts: Pale, Munich, Amber 150, Special B, Chocolate, Cara 120 and Black malts.
Hops: Columbus
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a one finger, medium looking, creamy tan head with good retention. Black body with no real carbonation evident. Head fades to full, creamy cap. Ring remains until the end and leaves some falling dots of lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Roasted malts, tar, leather and light tobacco. Dark fruits, raisins, dates and grapes and dark chocolate aromas. Decent strength here.
TASTE: Roasted malts, burnt notes, dark fruits, grapes, raisins and leather up front. Flavorful. Some booze at the swallow, moving into a bold and lingering finish of roasted and charred malts, sweet dark fruits, grapes, raisins, leather and tobacco, as well as some bitter dark chocolate in there. Some decent alcohol lingers as well. Flavorful and plenty going on.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, enough weight, goes down fine and finishes stickier. Some decent heat lingers.
OVERALL: Good stuff for sure. This is definitely a beefed up version of Smeerolie. It has all the same stuff in all the same places, just a little bit more of it. Good stuff overall and something worth checking out if you get the chance.

Poured from fridge temp, but allowed to warm over 30 min. Pours motor oil black with an inviting tan head. The aroma is robust and roasty. Lots of licorice, molasses, and dark chocolate. Lesser notes are coffee and dark fruit - specifically cherries and blackberries. Getting some oak as well. Taste is phenomenal. Huge roasted malts and slight bitter licorice. Lots of coffee, tobacco, nuts, caramel, molasses, spice, and a bit of smoke. Really nicely balanced and complex. Mouthfeel is super creamy and thick. Absolutely beautiful stout - one of the best I have had in a while. Overall, a fantastic beer that I will seek out again.
