Copenhagen 31/7 2019. 44 cl can from Mikkeller Web-shop. Drawing of pretty cool Mexican Skull with drawings and stuff on it.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small dark beige head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is very intensive, sweet, rich and with a prominent presence of alcohol. dark chocolate light roast, Vanilla, Cinnamon. Some very sweet cake. Strong boozy, sweet liquor odor chiming in.
Light carbonation. Fat, viscous, sticky, creamy, smooth texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet followed by a fairly strong coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undercurrent. Notable Chili after-burn. Lingering for quite a while.
A rich and explosive Choco Bomb with a vicious Chili and Booze bite.

440 ml can, as Moersleutel Smeerolie Mexicake Imperial Stout, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 11%. Pitch black colour, large brown head. The aroma has notes of roast malts, coffee, dark chocolate / cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon, hints of smoked chilies. Smooth, warming and rich mouthfeel. The medium sweet flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but there is now a more distinct chili burn, and moderate bittering hops. Outstanding beer!

Got this from the De Moersleutel webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Imperial stout with chipotle peppers, vanilla, cinnamon and cacao nibs and
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear black and yields a 2+ finger, medium-thicker looking, creamy tan head with very good retention. Fizzy and noisy, initially. Black body with no carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a splotchy wisp and ring. A ring remains til the end leaving touches of lacing on the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Bold nose with smoky chili peppers, cinnamon aromas, vanilla cream, milk chocolate, some butterscotch and touches of creamy coffee in the background. Nice. Lots of cinnamon and creamy vanilla.
TASTE: Some roasted notes, with decent cinnamon, sweet vanilla cream, milk chocolate and notes of smoky peppers, then more cinnamon and some light pepper heat at the swallow. Flavorful. Bold finish of cinnamon, milk chocolate, sweet vanilla cream, light butterscotch sweetness, creamy coffee bitterness and touches of chili peppers. This is great.
PALATE: Medium-fuller body and slightly lower levels of carbonation. Silky smooth on the palate, creamy and plenty of weight, goes down smooth with a bit of a bite and finishes relatively sticky. A bit of chili heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is delicious stuff. The chili component is perfectly measured in my book and the cinnamon, vanilla and coffee combination is top notch, both in terms of aroma and flavor. The look and feel is also right out of the textbooks. Perhaps it could be a touch darker and heavier for top marks, but this is about as good as it gets for Mexican stouts. Really love this stuff and would love to have it on a regular basis. Excellent. Check it out if you’re a chili-stout fan. Cheers!

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a medium, creamy, mocha-colored head. Smell is a little subdued, with faint notes of slightly roasted, caramel malt, chocolate and just a hint of cinnamon and tobacco. Taste is an excellent balance of roasted, caramel malt, rich chocolate fudge, some coffee, medium chili heat and lighter notes of tobacco, licorice and cinnamon, with just a hint of vanilla coming through as well. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some chocolate fudge, tobacco and chili heat lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and light/medium carbonation.
A great mexican chocolate Stout that focusses on the basics, with quite a rich chocolate fudge note and assertive, yet not overpowering chili heat, while the cinnamon and vanilla remain firmly in the background, which is a good thing in my personal opinion, preventing this from becoming too sweet and crowded, allowing for a great balance between roasted/bitter, sweet and spicy notes. Very nice, full mouthfeel as well, although not quite as creamy as in other Moersleutel Stouts I've had.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours jet black with good carbonation. Bubbles linger on the inner lining of the glass for a good 10 minutes. Nose is subtle. Black licorice, smoke, and a bit of tobacco. Some spice, but it's not dominant. Taste is incredible. Tons of spice (a bit hot), lots of chocolate, black licorice, brown sugar, smoke, tobacco, and dark fruit. Absolutely fantastic. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Overall, an incredibly crafted stout.
